Dirk joined Toastmasters in 1992 and has been a member of six clubs from California to Colorado. He has held many club officer positions including educational vice president, vice president of membership, and secretary. He founded the Five Star Club in Thornton, which is currently working towards charter strength, and he is the 2011-2012 president of the Front Range Club in Thornton. He earned his Masters degree in Marketing from San Diego State University and currently operates his own business selling electronic filing cabinets to a diversified clientele. Dirk has presented at the Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) and created a variety of presentations for outside organizations such as Microsoft and the Association of Purchasing Managers. He enjoys the great outdoors and takes pride in his daughters who excel in gymnastics and cheerleading.

Process vs. Content: Are Your Learning Skills Honed?

To study content is, in many instances, the same as giving someone a fish. To study the process allows one to insert any content and therefore learn to fish. This is all about evaluating the problem and determining what to learn, the process or the content.

Creative Thinking, the Workshop

This workshop implements the use of Story Boards, Creative Thinking and Critical Thinking to solve problems. The idea is to think outside the box and come up with as many ideas as possible… then determine if the idea is actually feasible. A unique approach yielding substantial results.
