| BIO | Paul Bloede is a Western Reiki Master Teacher, having been certified in 2007 by Dawn Rothwell, Reiki Master, of the Reiki Rays Institute then headquartered in Lawrence, Kansas. However, Paul prefers to emphasize his quite uncommon in Colorado and the western world, authentic training to Jikiden School of Reiki, Practitioner level. This certification was earned from Amanda Jayne, Jikiden Reiki Master Teacher, in 2009 in Denver (although Amanda is British and the Jikiden School is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan). Paul has also been a student at a couple of respected massage therapy schools in Denver, recently, but decided that focus was not for him, other than the Shiatsu (again Japanese and over clothing) massage modality he did learn before leaving the schools. Paul has paid to receive very many massage therapy and Reiki sessions over the past 15 years. He has read extensively in Reiki. He is also a corporate accountant currently seeking employment, and a Toastmaster who has earned both the Advanced Communicator-Silver, and Competent Leader designations from Toastmasters International. |

Authentic Reiki Reiki is a wonderful spiritual and philosophical discipline, appropriate for all religions, even though it originated in Japanese Buddhism in the 1920s. The true components of the discipline are not widely known, even among many Reiki professionals, because the history of Reiki has been shrouded in secrecy, changed along the way, and suffered from the cultural gap between conservative and traditional Japan, and the modern western world. Instead, most Reiki professionals today just focus upon the alternative medicinal and relaxation benefits of performing Reiki sessions on people, which is fine because those benefits are also remarkably substantial and numerous. Reiki is a bodywork/energywork technique done on a bodywork table, with the client clothed. Paul will be describing his training in, research of, and experience with Reiki in his 30-minute speech.
