The best predictor of future performance is past achievement. The reason is simple-We know already how to do what we've always done. We're likely to continue to do the same things, the same way and achieve the same results, unless someone decided to do (or try) something different. A club that is great at gaining new members and getting them through the basic communication manual will probably continue to do that well. Clubs having trouble helping members find and achieve the next goal will not keep members, grow above a stable number, or complete ACs or Leadership awards. They'll lose members as fast as they gain them. We have two new District Resources. Have you wondered how the District and Clubs are doing against Distinguished Club Plan and District Success Plan Goals. This article will always appear in the District Resources section. The District is Distinguished for the 2nd year in a row. Congratulations to District 26, Members, Clubs and Officers! The Distinguished Club Program BasicsThe Distinguished Club Program (DCP) exists to help a club provide an environment where members can learn speaking and leadership skills. To this end, the program focuses on educational awards and membership. Education awards are the official awards issues by Toastmasters International when members complete required activities. Membership is the number of members in the club and how the club has grown over the past years. How It WorksFrom July 1st of any given year to June 30 of the next year, all Toastmasters Clubs participate in the program. There are 10 goals each club strive to achieve over the year. By creating a Club Success Plan, the members and officers have a guide to get all 10 goals before June 30. World Headquarters automatically tracks the progress of each club and reports can be downloaded from the Toastmasters International Webpage. The Club Success Plan is the simply the club planning how to meet the goals, namely who is planning to earn an award before June 30 each year.
