Have an article for The Sage? Contributed articles are always welcome.
Here are the guidelines for submitting to The Sage.
The article should match at least one of the following criteria:
- The article is educational. It offers information that the reader can learn and apply, especially in the leadership and communication areas.
- The article recognizes member or club/district achievement beyond the expected completion of requirements in the manuals.
- The article encourages participation in Toastmasters activities. This can be anything from encouraging members to take on a High Performance Leadership project to encouraging them to run for district office.
- The article promotes understanding of Toastmasters programs, promotions, and policies. This can include open debate about the values of the programs, promotions, and policies.
Besides the above criteria the article should be informative and entertaining and of district-wide appeal. (We all want to recognize our members accomplishments, but make sure they are really of interest outside the club.)
Articles should be 800 words or less if possible. In general, unless an article is especially significant, it needs to fit on one page. If the article has formatting that is important to the message, it should be in either Word, WordPerfect, RTF, or formatted email. Otherwise, a text file is acceptable.
Applicable photos are encouraged. If possible, please identify people in the photo and give the significance of the photo to the article (Write your own caption. It may or may not be used).
Please include your name, educational level (CC, ACS/ALB, DTM, or whatever), and your position (club president, area governor, TLI chair, etc.) relative to the article for the byline, if applicable.
