Jeremy Levy, CC has been a Toastmaster for about 5 years. He is a member of Toastability.
When he began he was shy and soft spoken. Our club has watched him grow into the confident young man. He was recently selected to speak to a group of parents of children who have the same eye condition he has, which was that he was born blind. The information he shared with these parents was authentic, hopeful, and gave them a chance to expand on what they believe is possible for their children. He did it with Toastmasters confidence mixed with a bit of humor!
Toastmasters has played an integral part of his transformation. It gave him a place to try out new skills, get honest, loving feedback that helped him learn to organize his speeches and present them with confidence. My advice to fellow Toastmasters is to keep learning, growing and becoming great speakers who follow their dreams!
