Leadership means different things to different people.
What does it mean to you? To me, leadership is having the courage and confidence to conquer your fear and do what you think you cannot do. Taking the leap to leadership can be scary if you let it. Just as public speaking can overwhelm you and make your mouth dry, so can leadership if you let it. My advice based on experience is to banish all regrets, move forward, and take the leap!
Last year I was responsible for directing a team of volunteer leaders to successfully conduct the business and events of the District.
It’s my assignment this year to be the Chairperson of the District Leadership Committee, whose task it is to interview candidates for elected offices, and sometimes recruit candidates if they don’t come forward on their own. We are looking for the leaders of 2020/2021. We are looking for YOU to take the leap to leadership and say, “Yes! Count me in!”
It takes many leaders to operate a Toastmasters District.
There are 42 Area Directors, eight Division Directors and three Trio Directors. Division Directors and the Trio are the elected officers. There are also four Managers: Administration, Finance, Public Relations and Logistics. Additionally, there are the Technology Team, PR Team, Extension and Retention Teams, and an assortment of Chairpersons.
Will you take the leap?
