What do Liberty Toastmasters in Denver, Longmont and Grand Junction have in common?
They are all themed clubs.
Like a traditional Toastmasters club, we conduct meetings using the classic structure of Toastmasters educational program. The difference is we blend the Toastmasters structure with the timeless principles of leaders in action from the Leadership Program of the Rockies. Like a strand of pearls, our themes run from the Toastmasters introduction through the word of the day and table topics. Our speakers have the choice to include the theme in their speech or not.
Our meeting topics focus on individual rights, the proper role of government, being active and engaged citizens while using our founding documents as topics of discussion.
On occasion we hear from guests that they were apprehensive about attending our club because of a pre-conceived idea about how we conduct our meetings. Yet, once they attend a meeting, they are amazed at the level of discourse and sharing of information in a civil manner.
Our main purpose is to help all members achieve their goals of improving their speaking and leadership skills using classical rhetoric and eloquence.
Like all other Toastmasters clubs, we follow the Toastmasters International values of Integrity, Respect, Service and Excellence. Our members add the dimension of being passionate lovers of liberty. As one of our members often states, “Liberty is the responsible exercise of freedom.”
At Liberty Toastmasters, we practice this idea in our meetings and invite anyone to visit us.
